Developer & Off-Plan Disputes · Dubai, UAE

Off-Plan Contract Cancellation in Dubai

Cancellation can be requested by the buyer, by the developer after buyer default, or by agreement. Each route has different financial consequences, including the treatment of deposits and instalments paid.

Who is in default?

That decides everything. A buyer who stops paying without a legal basis may face forfeiture. A buyer facing a defaulting developer may have a strong refund claim. Chronology of payments and delays is essential.

What are the financial consequences?

Return of sums paid, retention of part by the developer, and in some cases court review of an excessive amount. The contract and the registered status of the project matter.

Should I stop paying?

Not without advice. Stopping can undermine a strong claim. See developer breach.
